Tumblr can change the rules, kill your account, or shut down services whenever it wants

Tumblr's terms give the company broad control over your account and what you can do there. The platform operates with minimal friction in its own favor.

Tumblr is a microblogging and social media site where users post, reblog, and interact with text, images, and multimedia content.

🔴 Tumblr rewrites the terms on 14 days' notice. Keep using the site after that notice, and you've accepted whatever changed. You don't get to opt out.

🔴 Your account can be suspended or terminated anytime, for any reason, with no recourse. Tumblr makes the call alone and owes you nothing if it does.

🔴 Services can be restricted, changed, or deleted without warning or liability. If a feature you rely on disappears or gets locked down, that's not Tumblr's problem legally.

🟡 Age minimums shift by region and feature. Generally 13, but 16 in the EU/UK/Australia, and 18 for certain functions. Know which rules apply to you.

🟢 The English version is the official one if translations don't match. Terms are clearly written and broken into sections. No obfuscation here.
