Tenable's Terms: Wide Discretion, Zero Liability Buffer
October 25, 2026
Tenable runs a cybersecurity platform. Their terms give them broad power to shut you down and leave you responsible for everything that happens on your account. Here's what you're signing up for.
๐ด Tenable can kill your account whenever they want. They reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or remove content at their sole discretion. No process. No warning required.
๐ด You're liable for everything that happens under your login. You must keep your password secure and confidential. If someone accesses your account, you're on the hook for all activity. They're not.
๐ก You can't download, copy, or scrape the site. Deep-linking is also prohibited. These restrictions are broadly written and cover a lot of ground beyond what you might expect.
๐ก Third-party materials on their platform aren't vetted. Tenable doesn't independently review, test, or authenticate content from other sources. They're hosting it; you're using it at your own risk.
๐ข You keep your freedom to use the site. As long as you follow the terms, nothing stops you from accessing Tenable's platform. That's the baseline.
The real friction: account termination without notice plus unlimited liability on your end. Standard cybersecurity company moves, but the discretion is absolute.
