Take-Two Owns Your Account. You Own Nothing.
August 22, 2026
Take-Two Interactive's terms are stacked heavily in the company's favor. You're buying access to games, not ownership. Here's what that means.
Take-Two makes games. Grand Theft Auto. NBA 2K. Borderlands. You play them through accounts you think you control. You don't.
๐ด Mandatory arbitration kills your right to sue. If something goes wrong, you can't go to court or join a class action. You arbitrate in private, Take-Two picks the rules.
๐ด Parents get stuck with the bill for anything their kid does. Authorized or not, you're liable for every purchase, every action on your child's account. No exceptions.
๐ด You cannot sell, transfer, or share your account. Take-Two owns the license. You're renting access, not buying it. The account terminates when they say so.
๐ก They can ban you for any legitimate reason without explanation. Account termination requires no specific justification. "Legitimate reason" is broad enough to cover a lot of ground.
๐ข Consumer protections in certain jurisdictions still apply. If your state or country has mandatory consumer laws, those stand. It's not nothing.
D grade. Read the full terms before letting a kid near a credit card linked to an account.
