Proton's Terms: Encrypted, Swiss, and Strict on Minors

Proton operates under Swiss law with encryption at its core. The company provides encrypted email, VPN, and storage services.

🔴 Kids need permission. You must be 13 or older to use Proton. Anyone under that age needs explicit parental or guardian consent.

🔴 No illegal content, CSAM, harassment, or discrimination. These uses are flat-out prohibited. Proton means it.

🟡 Don't share your account. Account sharing is off-limits unless your subscription plan specifically allows it.

🟡 Wallet and Lumo have their own rules. If you use Proton Wallet or the Lumo integration, separate terms apply and you'll need to consent to them separately.

🟢 Swiss operation, zero-access design. Proton is based in Switzerland, overseen by the Proton Foundation, and built on zero-access encryption—meaning Proton can't see your data even if served a warrant.

Grade B reflects strong privacy architecture paired with standard usage restrictions. Nothing hidden, but read before you share.
